Antioxidant Diet
Eat one before its too late.
Why would you want to eat an antioxidant diet before it’s too late? Simple because the benefits of antioxidants are too good to pass up.
In the 21st century, sickness only seems to be increasing. If you live in the western world, chances are you know someone who has or had cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s or another chronic disease. Unfortunately, for more people, they live in a world that ultimately ends up dominated by disease. We’re conditioned to believe that disease is inevitable, an unfortunate by-product of getting older. No wonder few people jump for joy at the thought of their 50th birthday.
In response to the increasing sickness, the health industry has boomed, especially those that sell “cures” to the masses. Millions of dollars are spent on drugs with horrible side effects and some of which aren’t even guaranteed to help.
And while all this commotion has been going on, there is a small group of people, pleasantly minding their own business yet they seem to have found a way to avoid disease. If they don’t do it entirely, they sure do it better than the majority of people.
Take advantage of antioxidants and you will save your life.
So what’s their secret?
An antioxidant diet, which is just a funny name for a diet high in fresh fruits and vegetables.
Antioxidants are potent disease fighters. They enter our body and seek out oxidation. Oxidation leads to disease in much the same way an old piece of metal rusts. As we get older, we rust. If you want to keep rust free, you’ve got to eat an antioxidant diet.
It really is that simple.
You can spend years and years chasing the ultimate cure for any disease, but I think it’s a safe bet that you won’t find one. Even when you think you have, it will turn out to have undesirable side effects or possibly do nothing at all.
Being healthy comes down to healthy living.
Exercise and eat lots of fruits and vegetables. As a general rule, the brighter the color of the fruits and vegetables, the higher the amount of antioxidants inside.
Where does juicing come into this?
Juicing is a marvelous way to increase your intake of fruits and vegetables. Juice beetroot, spinach, lemon, celery and grapefruit and you can finish a glass in 10 seconds. Try and eat that amount and you’ll be eating for a while before you get up (if you even get through it).
It’s important that juicing is only part of an antioxidant diet. Juicing provides an easy way to consume more nutrients, but the downside is that it strips the fiber out of the food.
One way to fix this problem is to make your juices in a blender (otherwise known as a green smoothie). Add a cup of water to the blender and whiz it away. You’ll have an amazing juice packed with fiber. For some ideas, check out 20 antioxidant rich foods.
What about antioxidant supplements?
Antioxidant juices and supplements have found their way into the market in response to the greater demand for products high in antioxidants. But are they worth it? The simple answer is that anything that’s been processed and pre-packaged is going to have nutrient loss to some degree. For more info, check out Antioxidant Juice.
How can you get more antioxidants?
There are countless ways. Eat salad with more meals. Eat fruit for breakfast. Juice three times a day. Munch on a carrot at work. Eat an apple for morning tea. Make a delicious green smoothie.
A diet high in antioxidants could save your life one day. But only if you start now. The effects of our diets are cumulative. Eat fast food for one day and not much will happen. Eat it for 20 years and you’ll notice a difference. It’s the same thing with fresh fruits and vegetables. While you may not notice the difference immediately, I can guarantee you will notice it in 20 years. Heck, you’ll probably notice it if you eat just fruit and vegetables for a week!
